Acts 2:25-31

25 For David says about him,Ps 16:8

‘I always see the Lord in front of me,

for he is at my right hand

so that I cannot be shaken.

26 That is why my heart is glad

and my tongue rejoices,

yes, even my body still rests securely in hope.

27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades ^{▼▼I.e. the realm of the dead}

or allow your Holy One to experience decay.

28 You have made the ways of life known to me,

and you will fill me with gladness in your presence.’ ^{▼▼Ps 16:8-11}

29 “Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and that his tomb is among us to this day.1Kings 2:10; Acts 13:36 30 Therefore, since he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him with an oath to put one of his descendants on his throne,2Sam 7:12-13; Ps 132:11; Luke 1:32, 69; Rom 1:3; 2Tim 2:8 31 he looked ahead and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ: ^{▼▼I.e. the Messiah}Ps 16:10; Acts 13:35
